More Pictures?
My phone won't let me post pictures on this blog, so I actually have to sit at a computer (which I do very rarely).....So, I post all of our pictures at www.thebrownells.shutterfly.com
About Me

- Mrs. ummmmmm......Brownell
- I have a husband and a puppy. I love one and am obsessed with the other. I'll let you figure out which is which. I love my job, my house, my students, my cheerleaders, and my life. I guess you could say things are going pretty well... I teach high school English and coach cheer. Husband is a video game designer. Guess which one the future Brownell babies will think is cooler...

The countdown is complete - CAHSEE
The countdown is complete. Today is the day for the CAHSEE. My students greet today with a mixture of relief and terror. They are terrified of not passing, but relieved that I won't be blah blah blah about CAHSEE anymore.
In order to "motivate" my cheerleaders a little more (and by motivate, I clearly mean spoil rotten), I make them a little "good-luck" package. I put these in their testing rooms so that it's waiting for them right before they take the test. Because I'm a good cheer-mommy, I include a pencil, good-luck note, and 2 apples. Because I'm a pig that hangs out with teenagers, they also get candy, peanut butter crackers, Cornuts and a Kudos bar. I realize this is way more than any child needs for 2 days, but they'll be bored and hungry. I have 11 Sophomores on my team this year, which means I have a lot of them out for practice AND that I'm going to have a million seniors in 2 years!
Now on to stare at them for 16 hours of testing (over 2 days). I'm going to get SO MUCH grading done!
