I love being a teacher.  I love that everyday my day is completely different than the day before.  Yes it's standing in front of kids, but they are different kids every 2 hours and a different subject every 2 hours.  It's the best.  Well, and the summers off don't hurt.
Yesterday I had my ELD class find a word in their reading that they didn't know.  Then we did a word-web for each word (write the word, write the definition, use it in a sentence, write down any synonyms or helper words, and draw a picture).  Some of the pictures were hilarious.

Haha.  He's dizzy!

Clearly a ghost class?

Someone ambushing a couple?

The words are upside down! haha.

What kind of rules are these?  No Jumping, No Drunken, No Running, No Diving.  This isn't a party I want to go to!
AND THEN, the best one ever.  My ELD kids are also giving presentations on a famous American.  They all love to choose Martin Luther King (I've seen like 15 of these presentations), and this was my favorite one.

I think I missed this day in my history class.

I think you need to have a chat with their 5th and 8th grade history teachers!
Most of them in my ELD class are pretty new to the country, so I guess they have that as a defense. HOWEVER - this was a research project, so there's also that.
