More Pictures?

My phone won't let me post pictures on this blog, so I actually have to sit at a computer (which I do very rarely).....So, I post all of our pictures at www.thebrownells.shutterfly.com

About Me

My photo
I have a husband and a puppy. I love one and am obsessed with the other. I'll let you figure out which is which. I love my job, my house, my students, my cheerleaders, and my life. I guess you could say things are going pretty well... I teach high school English and coach cheer. Husband is a video game designer. Guess which one the future Brownell babies will think is cooler...

All in a week.....The glamorous life of a teacher...

Let me start out by saying that I love being a teacher and I love coaching cheer (so much so that I pretty much volunteer for the latter)...the only thing I hate about it is dealing with the adults.  They're THE WORST.  Sometimes it seems like they all lose their mind and somehow their issues all end up on my shoulders.

Monday:
*Bball coach harasses me right in front of a principal about an issue we had last week (issue = he promised me the gym for 2 hours, when we got there another team from another school was practicing and we had to wait 30 minutes for them to finish before we got the floor.  LOTS of cheerleader whining ensued....) and the principal stands idly by... ack!  my life!
*I'm buried under a pile of papers to grade

Tuesday:
*Some B that works in Career Center sends out an email to the ENTIRE school basically saying that the cheerleaders don't do anything on campus because we weren't at the one game she went to.  I sent a very nice email back saying that we actually go to about 6 games per week..... ack!  my life!
*I'm buried under a pile of papers to grade

Wednesday:
*Teacher friend tells me that Career Center B was talking about my "scathing email" (Bitch please....if it was scathing, you would be burned through the screen!) at the bball game! ack! my life!
* -leave house at 6:45 AM
   -Teaching day ends at 2:38,
-go to cheer practice until 4
-go to JV bball until 7
-go to V bball until 9
-return home at 9:30 and promptly fall asleep at 10:30 (I think I may have waved at husband sometime      in there too....)
*Send email to bball coach after game gently reminding him to tell his players to walk through the stupid tunnel that the cheerleaders make at the end (apparently it's not the cool thing to do if they lose).  He responds that he can't even "think about that after such a hard loss" and that we should "discuss it at a more appropriate time"  huh?  Apparently he thinks it's cool to teach the boys to be poor sports.  Oh well...I guess I lose that battle.
*still buried under a pile of papers to grade
Even though I whine....It's these girls, who are ADORBS!, that keep me going back for the adult abuse....

They keep me entertained...

P.S. - how cute are their bows?  Xmas present from yours truly....Purchased from "Piggy's Place" on Etsy.
Thursday
*hid papers...hoping if I can't see them, they don't exist.
*get called up to office (which makes any grown adult feel about 13) - One of my cheerleaders has too many absences, am handed a paper showing absences dating back to September.  Why am I just getting this today?
*get called up to office AGAIN - One of my cheerleaders ran away from home and they want me to find out where she is and convince her to go back home.

Oh, and they took away her cell phone, so I'm off to find a carrier pigeon to send to find her....

Friday
Please let it be good!  It's my birthday.

I'm going to avoid adults ALL day.  I'm going to stay with the sane and mature teenagers.  Who knew those words would EVER come out of someone's mouth.

I did enjoy the bday, but was unable to avoid the bball coach (I made the mistake of checking the email!).
